    No. Nothing from them.

I've had a couple of reasons to contact Silva recently and have not heard anything back in terms of a personal dialogue (only generic and not very helpful emails or no contact at all). So my opinion of their customer service is pretty low at the moment.

Why not put your same complaint on the FSM board? It's more likely to get noticed.

  1. True.

But I've emailed them and the generic notices say things will be sorted. I didn't get a specific email back from Silva about the delay in the Conan release arriving. After it arrived I still don't know whether this was the initial discs coming late or were a second set being sent out. Bottom line was that it arrived.

With the Doctor Who problem...again, I've emailed them. I've had a generic email saying that it will be sorted. I'll wait and see.

    There's no rush.

  2. I've just received a replacement disc 1 from Silva.

Silva could have just sent a replacement track for me to download so thank to them for sending the disc.

Not received anything yet...let me know whether track 22 is still in mono, Alan, if you will.

    That's excellent news Alan !

I'm wondering if people who bought their copy at another online retailer (like Play or Amazon) will get the same service ?

You are correct - it still is a mono track.

I would expect so. I bought my digital copy from Amazon and received a CD from Silva.

Apparently, they're going to release a score just for this year's Christmas episode.
Found it on Amazon today... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004GXCMIA

  5. Hopefully the music is better than the actual programme. I thought the show was pretty poor.

One thing you can be sure of, Katherine Jenkins' singing will be a feature of this new release - which isn't a good thing in my book.

It was a poor episode but I thought the Katherine Jenkins piece was lovely, a highlight even.

Can't really remember the music as well ...
The trailer for the next series looked good though , but we all know trailers can be deceiving ... wink

Hm, I missed it, but my brother swore it was an excellent episode and that the script/dialogue writer was never better?

    Familiy loyalty?
    Pundit opinions?

  6. The odd witty one-liner does not make it a witty script.

I thought that were some good ideas but everyone just seemed to overindulge themselves, and everything just got mired in their self-importance.

BTW, did I mention I wasn't too keen on it?

The Christmas special was absolutely horrible from beginning to end. Even Michael Gambon couldn't save it. It's another testament to the fact that I don't really like Moffat's writing. It's too whimsical, staccato and hokey. Oh, how I miss Russell Davies.
    I am extremely serious.
  7. When Russell T Davies was in charge Moffat's episodes were usually the high points. I had high hopes when I heard he was taking over the helm.

But how disappointing it has all been.

I thought the episodes Davies wrote himself were, by far, the best. Added a sense of seriousness into the proceedings, some truly creepy stuff as well as some truly engrossing situations. Then again, I also preferred Tennant over Matt whatshisface.

Compared to most of the episodes of season 5, I thought this year's special was quite bearable. Of course, it's no David Tennant. Oh how I miss him... and this made me chuckle.

    Yeah, that was pretty neat.

I loved the sentence "That is to say, Tennant is marrying not only his on-screen daughter, but also the real-life daughter of his on-screen former self."

  8. Clips for Doctor Who - A Christmas Carol are up!

Sounds like typical Murray Gold/Doctor Who fayre - and not too much of the more lighthearted cues by the sound of the clips.

  9. Anyone want to hear some Doctor Who tracks done on ear-splitting metal guitar?

Not sure about "Doomsday" but I quite enjoy "This Is Gallifrey" and "I Am The Doctor".
