So THIS is where the activity is at maintitles. Lots of discussion going on that isn't strictly about NP? Have never followed these threads before.

Listen, don't knock it: a LOT of research went into this!
I checked time and again, and I can now conclusively and definitively state (and the scientific community WILL back me up on this) there is no valid method of spelling Dinotopia without "no". It cannot be done.

I'm contemplating a paper on the matter.
Though it'll probably just be a short, disposable one. A sort of toilet paper.

Clogs ineffective in a moist environment?
    I beg to differ.

    NP: Tron - Daft Punk

I like this score. But I don't love it. The orchestral writing can seem too generic, however well appointed and executed. I don't understand how one can say that it was written with pen and paper, especially when considering how the the melodic development is elementary at best. The electronic portion is on par with what they've done before. So nothing new there. Good score, not a great score.

I would say that it IS a great listen!

One of my favourite listens from last years scores.

Yeah, there were some great segments in it. I found myself a bit bored at some parts, however.

NP: STAR TREK: GENERATIONS (Dennis McCarthy)

OK-ish, but a bit too bombastic at times. Great theme.
    I am extremely serious.
  1. I just watched Hostage. Good movie, good acting, and Desplat's score is perfect.

NP: THE LONELY PLANET, VOL. 2

Lovely synth/world music from all over the world, befitting whatever country is displayed in the episode.
    I am extremely serious.
  2. A question for any Spanish members...

I'm listening to Carles Cases' wonderful Music For The Temple and I'm trying to find out more about this. I believe that it may have been a concert to do with Barcelona's Sagrada Familia.

Anyone know more? And I recommend people take a listen to the clips on iTunes or Amazon (I'll put a link when I get to my computer later for lazy people).

    Tron: Legacy - Daft Punk

I think this is similar to Marty Stuart's great score for All The Pretty Horses in the sense of its 'fresh but familiar'. Tron: Legacy is like the Ford Mustang when it first came out. Under the styling, you got a Ford Falcon, but the styling and the different engine options made in original and very enticing.

    27 Dresses - Randy Edelman

Nothing we haven't heard before in a Randy Edelman romantic comedy score. Even the 40 minute album feels too long, not sure how that happened...
