Am listening to the new remaster from Kritzerland of Casino Royale. Very nice job compared to the crap Varese released in 2002. In fact I've got a copy real cheap. The new release offers both the film and LP and I can tell you straight out the film audio sounds better. It has an indescribable crispness to it.

The look of love is a good one to compare the lp transfer, film transfer, and a 320 recording. Erik can make fun of me but there is a discernible difference.

I gave my mom a 3CD set of Bacharach songs for Christmas. I wonder is she liked it or even listened to it.

Haven't received my copy yet, but looking forward to it!
I was hoping the remastering would justify the re-purchase, and by all accounts and reviews apparently it has. Very good news. the original CD release was one of the very worst mastering jobs I ever had the misfortune to have to listen to (and I almost never gripe about that aspect of any release!)

Yeap! A lot of their songs have been covered multiple times but those are the popular ones.

  2. A cue from his score to "Po" -- his first film score since 1990:

And an article Jon Burlingame wrote on it:

The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else.
  3. Wow! This is so cool. Here's a link to his new song: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_i8C6welT3g
It totally sounds like him. Awesome!
  4. I have to say, I wouldn't expect Burt Bacharach of all people to be scoring the next Kung Fu Panda!

If like me you have no interest in Kung Fu Panda movies Thor this could and has easily passed you by, somehow this has filtered into my consciousness, Jack Black voices Po in those films. Like me that knowledge will now be stuck in your head.

  8. Nice review. I think it's remarkable to get a new Bacharach score. That new song is SO Bacharach.
