Wow. That's amazing; it really does look like Tatooine!

Reminds me more of LV-426 as seen in Aliens.

    Water, Water, Eerywhere
    http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/0 … where.html

Some compelling pictures with the power and beauty of water.
Horrible sights in the Sichuan province (China, where the earth quake hit) and Irrawaddy Delta (near Rangoon/Yangon, in Myanmar).

Well, this has got to be the most amazing thing I have read in a long while. You think about those creatures in Alien and Mimic and then there's this-

Stockholm syndrome for moths (makes for a creepy read) -
    http://scienceblogs.com/loom/2008/06/03 … _moths.php

A previous article by the same author on parasitoid wasps (utterly fascinating and still creepy)-

I read somewhere there's an ongoing battle between members of arthropoda (insects, spiders etc to be simple) and humans, and it's possible there will be only one remaining on earth by the end of the milennium, or even sooner slant Humans develop pesticides, poisons etc to get rid of insects but the new generation of insects is one step ahead of its predecessors just like its human counterparts ( biggrin ) and develops immunity to the pesticides, which in turn accumulate in human food crops and enter their bodies and raise hell, making men fall in their own trap. So wait and watch how this battle rages! dizzy

We've had enough practical tests here to confirm this! wink The mosquitos which used to kick the bucket on lighting a certain mosquito pad for the night a few years ago, now happily buzz around to feast on our blood even if the room is filled with the fumes. And one of my friends fell sick and had to stop using the pad because it turned out he had developed allergy to it. D'oh! tongue

It's not really a hole! rolleyes wink

It would probably crush all the waste down to a size that would mean I could actually fit it into the small recycling box out council gives is! But would they be able to lift it into their truck?

You know what, however terrifying experiments humans do, nothing can harm Earth itself for long. If Earth can survive meteor collisions and calamities like that, it can definitely survive human experiments. Only the life on Earth will be affected, not the planet itself. Read the chapter "Destroying The World" from Jurassic Park where it is nicely explained. wink

Earth will eventually kick us off her back mate, i don't see any other way around it they way we tread it. Don't know when it'll happen and it might take millions of years but it will, it will reject us or die and take us with it.
