  2. I have just added a review of Kareem Roustom's score to Encounter Point:

    http://reelmusic.wordpress.com/2011/10/ … m-roustom/

A film that follows a forum for bereaved Israeli and Palestinian families who are trying to bring a peaceful end to the conflict in the region through non-violent means. It's a great little score if you like your music filled with ethnic influences.

  3. Up next is Stelvio Cirpiani's hit-and-miss score for the (apparently) awful film Death, Deceit and Destiny Aboard The Orient Express at Reel Music:

I have no idea how complicated this is, but it would be an absolute benefit and bonus (I think) if you could somehow add some sound clips, or at least link to them. Many of the descriptions in your reviews are really tantalising and I wish I could marry them up with some of the tracks to get a full impression.

Probably not easy with the relatively rare material you generally review?

Word Press has a feature where you can add audio clips
    Example: http://sdtom.wordpress.com/2011/10/22/m … h-marilyn/

Thanks Tom. As I had mentioned elsewhere, I see that audio clips can only be added with an upgrade in storage space (at least $20 per year). Am I wrong about that?

At present, I don't want to pay for additional space at the moment.

$20 is correct but for that amount of money it gives you a lot of space. I look at it as $2 per month, a cup of coffee. I don't use it for every review but it comes in handy when a particular point in an article needs to be further explained.

I know that the extra space will eventually be required if the blog keeps going. Maybe if my "hits" reach the hundreds rather than the tens then I will consider adding individual clips to the reviews rather than just directing people to stores.

I do see the "luxury" benefit of being able to host actual files, but for me the redirection works just fine, Alan. smile

  7. I have just uploaded a review to another hit-and-miss score - Hayley Hutchinson & Sam Forrest's score for the extremely low budget film CrimeFighters:

I'm glad I invested as I did. For example I was able to put up the Quiet Village cue and I got an answer instead of going through a server. Far more convenient. Now that I know I can remove it.

Thanks Tom. I want to keep it moving along and when I bought this 14-minute score I thought it would be a quick "stocking filler".

Any composer named Vivaldi has a lot to live up to!

  12. I don't usually highlight when I post a "Ten Tracks Today" but today was a TV themes special - and it threw up some gems, mostly childhood themes:

    A LITTLE ROMANCE

It's a beautiful score, I'd like to think the Academy voted on the merit of Delerue's score but I somehow doubt it.

A great list of themes there. I was sure though that there is an original recording of BLAKE'S 7 out there? In fact I'm sure I have it somewhere, I'll have to check it out.
