Thanks Martijn. I am getting good feedback from composer and the film's director. And my review may even feature in the push up to the (limited) release in the US in November!

It's a shame that the film doesn't seem to have been picked up for release outside the US yet. For the review I was given access watch the whole documentary and it was an eye-opening experience: many of those labourers who toil in fields gathering produce for the big supermarkets are exposed to disgraceful levels of abuse.

Would love to see the film because I have a different view of the situation that being the majority of the pickers aren't citizens of the US. There choice is simple go back to Mexico where they belong.

Tom's referring to the film Food Chains that I mentioned earlier in the thread.

We could get into quite a political discussion Tom, that's not really appropriate for here.

Yes, there's a significant proportion of people who are illegal (or "undocumented") immigrants. But, as far as I understand, the way that the supermarkets have a stranglehold on the agriculture industry, no one else would work for the $40 a day, 14-hour days "hard labour" that's the norm here.

I can say without reservation that if the undocumented would return to Mexico and the wages increased to $10.00 an hour yes the prices would go up but Americans would do the work who would also pay taxes which the Mexicans don't. It is a huge problem that has been brushed under the carpet. There are people who wait for years to become US citizens.

The frequency of new reviews may not be as fast from now on, but I am hoping that the regularity of new reviews will be maintained. There's plenty to review.
