I don't really care much for Wagner. I'd rather listen to his successor, Richard Strauss. -

I agree with you on Strauss over Wagner. However, Wagner is a learning tool that early Hollywood composers studied (leitmotif ex.).listen to more classical music! -

A rather obscure historical recording of Edmund Rubbra performing his 4th symphony. So far it is all notes to me that don't mean much.listen to more classical music! -

Oh, for sure. As far as influence goes, Wagner is perhaps the most important composer who ever lived. -

I also have to throw Huppertz into that mix even though he was influenced by Wagner also he had his own ideas which Max and Erich adapted.listen to more classical music! -

Returning to my roots and listening to a bunch of piano music. Started with Beethoven's piano sonatas and now I'm listening to some of Haydn's. A good chunk of this music I performed as a kid so it feels like I'm reliving my glory days, haha. -

It's brilliant and I listened to it just about a week ago. I paired it with Vangelis' Voices. Both albums contain wonderful vocal tracks.
