What do you mean I don't qualify????The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

I don't get it....more details on the quiz would be helpful. If this is indeed a serious request. -

Well, that was helpful....I still don't get it. If David Fuller's post is intended as a joke, it's too advanced for me. -

I don't think anyone knows what David Fuller is about. Perhaps he seriously wants a quiz, but it's an odd and probably unsuccesful way to go on it about. Or perhaps Steven is right, that it's a scam.
In any case, people were laughing because Justin made a funny.
Does that help?

My subject if Alfie Spencer and his organ playing to silent films circa 1917-1921 at the British Gaumont theatre in Brighton.

A wee bit more information wouldn't go amiss. What film music quiz? Why three composers to qualify? Do we win anything? Is there a website?
...what?

Here are some of the sample questions:
Question #1:
What are you wearing?
Question #2:

Surely naming 3 composers I am familar with defeats the point of it? -

Not at all - more like healthy skepticism.

What can I say? We're all bastards. Except me.
It's simple and no moneys are involved.
Primate descrimination! I'll tell LLLR on you!
If you only know composers and music of the last two decades, you probably wouldn't have a chance to get any of the answers correct.
Oh, VINTAGE composers. I see now. Okay, I amend my Bates, Balfe, & Davis to:
Adolph Deutch
Stanley Wilson
Torrie Zito
Well, F**K. Still don't think I'll win. ;-)The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

David, why don't you present the clips here and have the discussion at this forum? It'll create much more reaction, feedback and discussion. We had this some time ago: Guess the Score game, in which someone put up some clips (sendspace or so) and then there was one week of guessing and sending the answers to the respective quizmaster.
Much more interactive. It then really IS a group session.

Violate our sanctum as much as you like, David. Just provide a little elaboration next time. We were simply curious as to what the quiz entailed and who and what was representing it. Jokes about any suspected fraudulence were more tongue in cheek than serious accusations.

David, I think Tonerow aka Cobweb here fits your 'criteria', for example. In fact, many of us like 'vintage' scores here too (however you define that), but may not be quite comfortable in sending in our favourites to see if we qualify first, as some sort of screening process. -

Hmm, or you could just upload it to the dozens of upload services out there (which is as simple as using email).
Sending physical CDs to share music in this day and age is like replying to an email by saving it to a USB disk, then sending that in the post."Message board incredulity is the least satisfied emotion in human history." - Franz
