Great composer and about time he had his own thread.
Just one thing David, all composer thread headlines are in capitals to distinguish them.

MainTitles needs more threads such as this one to coax a passive observer like me to log in.
Haven't posted here since the 2011 Holiday season.
Bring on more pre-1980s TV & movie music, like Gerald Fried's "Catspaw" episode which features members of the clarinet family prominently.
The TV movie "The Ordeal Of Dr. Mudd" has an effective and memorable score by Fried ... and let's not forget Gerald's stripper music for Lola Albright in "A Cold Wind In August"!
Personal favorite Fried scores are "The Baby" (directed by Ted Post) and "Cabinet Of Caligari" (available on FSM) -

Does he want his personal e-mail published online?
If you look aroudn the last few pages of UPCOMING FILM SCORES thread, you'll see he did a new score.
My interview with him from not too long ago:

I always preferred the Sol Kaplan scored Trek over the Fried one (yeah, I know Kaplan did just two episodes).
Unquestionably Fried defined much of the sound of that Universe, but it simply isn't for me.
I can certainly tolerate his scores within the medium, but won't listen to them separately for pleasure.“The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision.” ~ Lynn Lavner -

The only thing I presently have of him is an episode score from JERICHO and the very cool funk-jazz score for the tv show SHOTGUN SLADE. I really dig that. -

Here's a suite from one of the episodes of "Dynasty" he scored; there were some scenes in another country, accounting for the flavor in the score:

Clearly, as score fans, we don't possess the instant qualifications necessary to attempt a niche market quiz.
By the way, we might all be dicks. The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

Yeah, I meet plenty of extremely kind compsoers/musicsians/etc., that want their personal contact information private.
If he had been okay with it, I would have loved for everybody to hear his funny voicemail. The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else.
