I taped 007 Songs in Concert on TV yesterday, haven't watched it yet but was surprised it was only 53 minutes or so.
Was the actual concert only this long, too, or did they delete certain pieces (like they often do when broadcasting WSAs and the like)?

No, they probably made a selection. Not everything was as good either, I heard.

Google translated your report Thor, reads fine (by the way, you can find Abel's speech on youtube, might be worth linking to it). And did everyone dislike the The Broken Circle songs? I thought they were a nice addition and a nice tie in to the festival.

Cute as a curiosity, but not a big musical experience. It would be like getting George Clooney and the other actors to sing the O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU? songs, even though the were professionally sung by the Soggy Bottom Boys in the film. Soggy Bottom Boys? Sure -- good, pro bluegrass. Clooney & co.? Only for the 'fun' of seeing him live.

Good interview. Interesting how he reacts on your ostinato question. But impressive that you managed to get 10 minutes out of nothing. Well done!

Appreciate the response, guys! Thanks. I was afraid the whole thing would go unnoticed.

There are a couple of TV broadcast versions of the recordings now on YouTube:

    Dinosaur:
    http://youtu.be/Ay31FPNJ0fs

    Snow White & The Huntsman:
    http://youtu.be/Tu9MHEBSeAo

Unfortunately the Snow White recording does suffer quite badly from the aforementioned clipping/distortion problems, particularly in louder sections. Dinosaur isn't too bad, aside from the last note.

Nice to see/hear these again though smile

Some awkward flute misses in the start of DINOSAUR too. I had forgotten about those.

I shot a video of the DINOSAUR sequence myself (also on youtube), but it's nice to have the betterlooking and bettersounding TV version.

By the way, when do they generally announce the program of Ghent?

I ask because in September and October, there are two film music events I REALLY want to go to -- Krakow (where I'm going anyway) and Vienna.
