Not sure yet. Last year I said to myself I'd take a year off, also due to financing (just bought a new apartment, want a full holiday after that). James Newton Howard certainly could be a good reason to come anyway, but that would depend on the program, as it's possible to fill a concert with popular yet to me 'meh' cues, and there's a possibility it's amazing. So, I wait some more. Also, the venue of the sportpaleis didn't charm me before... I'm more a fan of the previous location.

I would have loved to hear WATERWORLD, SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS, WYATT EARP, FALLING DOWN, GRAND CANYON and pieces from SAINT OF FORT WASHINGTON, FLATLINERS, DINOSAUR. In short, my favourite JNHs. Wouldn't we all?
    I am extremely serious.

Hmmm....it doesn't say anything about which JNH clips will be played, but thanks for the link nonetheless.
    I am extremely serious.
  2. Will be a short concert. Just a few exclusive premieres like Snow White and Huntsman, Bourne Legacy and some others.

    Not exactly biggrin

Some of us are fans of his scores for M. Night Shyamalan movies.
  3. I think that Snow Falling on Cedars would make for very difficult concert material.

Yeah, I'd imagine. Personally, I never connected to those.

    "to" or "with" ?
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
  6. To. biggrin

Snow Falling on Cedars has become one of my personally most significant scores I own. Since I have the original CD (like three weeks from now), the score has been in my player everyday, sometimes even twice.

Snow Falling on Cedars is probably my favorite score of all times. I connect emotionally with every note from this score.

It's the only score that leaves the same emotional impact to me with THE THIN RED LINE.

YES, The Thin Red Line is also another score that has a huge emotional impact on me.
  7. Demetris, to me it's close enough, yes. I even had a series of listening to the two of them back to back.

Does anyone know when they will announce what suites from JNH music they will play at the concert? I wonder on what criteria: the popularity amongst fans, the movies that are box office success, Oscar nominated music (that include Michael Clayton btw)?

The Last Airbender would make me so happy....

How odd, this doesn't make much sense.

I would assume, that like all other editions (Desplat, Doyle, Portman, ....), the second half of the concert is devoted to the guest of honour, in this year's case James Newton Howard.
