  8. Tyler has been speaking about the project and he was hired due to previous collaboration with the director. That's all I know.

    The official website has several lengthy samples up of Javier Navarrete's WRATH OF THE TITANS score. Some might say his sound has veered a little towards RC-isms (it certainly sounds unlike anything HE has done before), but thanks to just enough orchestral depth and color (several ethnic instruments along the way) it still sounds great to me and aeons better than Djawadi's effort!

    It's an epic score for large orchestra and choir, added with some electronics for contemporary effect.

    Yeap, and I don't really care; this sounds like one of those guilty pleasure efforts that just need to be fun, but are above average and as such not all that guilty. Certainly a purchase for me.

    If you're talking about final track Kronos Megalos Remix, I'm guessing this isn't from Navarrete but some producer that was asked to give it a poppy spin for the end credits.

  20. Funny but it doesn't sound too much like a remix like I was afraid of. I agree, the choral work it doesn't sound typical (a couple of "ooh", "aahs" with a terribly low mix that makes that you can't hear it). Zeus In The Underworld creeps me out.

    Also, I like the main theme.

    I only like the quiet parts and the first cue (Wrath of the Titans).

    But then I never much liked Navarrete to begin with.

    Of you ask me, it most definitely is! It might not be one of his most elaborate ones in terms of scope, but it's certainly among his best. Definitely above (the also lovely) Cracks. To me, Fireflies and Labyrinth both show two different sides of his best work; one the intimate melancholic one, and the other the one that shows he knows how to handle big orchestra and vocals as well.
