Thank you Alan, I 'm glad you like it. As for the suite format, (be it for the "a sip of hot tea" track or the "Votim Mama" one) it was a difficult decision - as it always is when it comes to edit tracks and try to give the album presentation the best flow. In this case, those scores consist of many very short tracks and I felt the flow and evolution of the music would be best served with the suite presentation. Of course, ultimately, this is down to pure subjectivity wink

I'd assumed that it was for presentation and listening experience reasons that the suites were put together as they were.

My comment was from a purely selfish perspective! wink

I agree wholeheartedly. Always go with the flow and the suite, Max! You have my full support.
    I am extremely serious.

I suspected you would agree wink For the very first albums of mine, the presentation was awful - and I am the one to blame: at that time, I wanted them to include all and only the music used in the doc in a chronological presentation. But I quickly learned better (this way only works for few soundtracks) I then began to produce my albums in order to create a listening experience: in some cases dialing out some used tracks, replacing it with unused but better material, and on other occasion creating wealth of new material specifically for the album. Well, I guess my missteps taught me some lessons wink
  3. I'm glad to report that "Box office" has been properly and digitally released today. It is now available on amazon, itunes and, for those who prefer lossless files, on qobuz.

A shame that there's not going to be an album for this score - not even a digital release! - because I enjoyed the whole feel and sound of this score. Very good.

I'm glad you like it, thank you. Sadly, it is more and more difficult to release the music these days, even digitally.

  9. Halloween is coming....
The closest I came to compose horror music was for the documentary "La malediction du Titanic" ("Titanic: beyond the curse" - 2004). It was about all the strange and sometimes troubling phenomenons that happened during the fatefull travel. The (shorter) English version of the documentary benefited from a voice over performed by Sir Roger Moore.
To celebrate Halloween this year, I uploaded on YouTube a 8'40 suite from the soundtrack album - I hope you enjoy it!

In 2004, I composed the soundtrack of "Titanic: beyond the curse (La Malédiction du Titanic)," a documentary that was available in 2 versions, a 90 minutes French cut and a 52 minutes English cut (with voiceover by Sir Roger Moore).

The documentary chronicles all the strange, disturbing and supposed supernatural events in connection with the fateful voyage of the Titanic in 1912.

The music ranges from disturbing and horrific passages horrific to nostalgic and contemplative moments. There are 4 themes: the main theme (track 1) refers to the fate of the passengers, victims and survivors, and develops a nostalgic attitude. A secondary theme for the fate of the ship itself often occurs and can be heard in its complete version in track 24. The theme dedicated to memory and time can be found mainly in tracks 7 and 17. Finally, a motive connected with the iceberg is present in tracks 2 and 12.

A previous album, released in 2006, contained 43 tracks for 53 minutes of music. This album has never really satisfied me, so I decided to create this new version designed for listening experience, re-sequenced, edited and comprising previously unreleased tracks. This is my final vision of this music that mattered to me enormously.
