From what I heard at the weekend I cannot possibly recommend enough The Swimming Pool and Angel. -

I think you would really like his music, Tom. I know you're a big fan of Marianelli's softer more classical side. Rombi is very comparable to that, though I think, of the two, I prefer Rombi. I can vouch for Angel. It is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Also check out Un Homme Et Son Chien (which you can get from Amazon as a download for just $8.99). If you like those, go on and check out Merry Christmas. Those are the only three I've heard, but I have quite a few other on my want list now. -

Merry Christmas certainly is great, even if it heavily depends on your seasonal mood regarding to most tracks. ^^ However, the main theme, which reminds me a lot of Thin Red Line and Der Untergang, is absolutely superb, used in four or five different tracks, and well worth the CD.
Angel, of course, is another fantastic score. -

When's this guy's next score out? Any projects this year? -

Nop, no new assignments yet sadly. Anyone seen RICKY? Damn that score is gorgeous, i am tempted to watch the movie too although it seems kinda.....odd.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

I've not seen it (I doubt I ever will), but the score is lovely. This is one composer I honestly don't mind being typecast. -

Although I do wonder what kind of melody he could inject into an action score. -
- CommentTimeJun 29th 2010
Brilliant, as some snippets of some more intense cues in his score suggest. As Desplat did in his action scores as well. Rombi is extremely gifted and very sensitive musically.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

I think Rombi could do a Bond score pretty well actually. And meanwhile give David Arnold another ID4 to score... -

I think Rombi would probably take the Williams-like approach to action scoring. At times, his music is very reminiscent of Williams (probably why his music sits so well with me). -

"Hymne Des Fraternisés (Murmures Et Vocalises)" from Joyeux Noël might be my single favorite piece of music ever.I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to! -

Yeap, quite spot-on. He's a composer from that era and qualities. Paper and pencil all the way, musicianship to the utmost.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

No.... What do you mean? -

He cries, 2 times. One in front of the female choir and one in front of the LSO, abbey road studios. He must be the most sensitive and at the same time awesome guy ever!Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Wow, nice story.
I probably repeat myself here (because I'm awesome), but I met him at the John Williams concert two years ago. He was extremely enthusiast that someone recognised him. After he signed my cd of Angel (for which he used my very bad pen), we had to climb over fences and chairs because we didn't found the exit. He also invited me to that festival of 100years of film music last year, which I in the end didn't attend because it was not obvious to get there (even though Ubeda isn't either ).Kazoo -

I met him last year in Úbeda and he is such a nice and sensitive person. His music perfectly reflects it.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -

Although I don't doubt he's brilliant, you wait until you've seen someone play Chopin!
(Unless you have, then you'll know.
I have, obviously. Who wants to touch me?) -
