100 years ago the first film score was written, by Camille Saint-Saëns for the French movie L'Assassinat du duc de Guise, that premiered on November 17th 1908 in Paris.

France will celebrate this event over 2 years by lots of concerts and a new film music award. Lead by Maurice Jarre, a new comittee was created (Comité du Centenaire de la Musique de Film/Committee of the 100th Celebration of Film music).
