  1. Listened to it a couple days ago on Youtube. IT was okay, but nothing particularly grabbed me. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't really good either. Unfortunately, as long as the samples were, this sounds like one of those rare scores that need a full listen of entire cues, before being able to get a better decision on it overall. Something like Amazon doing 30 seconds samples, would be a complete waste of time.

Ang Lee: Of water and Pi
"This is the best use of 3-D I've ever seen," I say to Ang Lee. And I mean it. His "Life of Pi," based on Yann Martel's novel about a shipwrecked boy, is an astonishment, not least because it never uses 3-D for its effect, but instead as a framing device for the story as a whole. There are, for example, shots where the point of view is below the sea's surface, looking up at the boat and into the sky beyond. The surface of the sea seems to be an invisible membrane between the water and the air. I've never seen anything like it.

Mychael Danna and Atom Egoyan equals great things usually, so a new assignment with the two working together again is indeed news!

Er...what? Danna is impersonating Mikael Carlsson? ....is what that headline seems to mean when read literally.

That's interesting...it's the directorial debut of the masterful cinematograher Wally Pfister. Should at least give us some cool visuals -- and Danna's music.
    I am extremely serious.
