I love the suite (one of my favorite Goldsmith listening experiences) but I've never really grown to love the full score.

  1. NP:
    W. E. (2012) - Abel Korzeniowski (on CD)

What a stupid name for a film - W.E. - very bad marketing. This is indeed the older brother of Romeo and Juliet. Very nice! Great recommendation!

Escape from Tomorrow (2013) - Abel Korzeniowski (on spotify)

I am not so much into horror scores. With exeptions as this one. Very nice, too!

Are you sure you're a film music fan?
  2. Mr. Peabody and Sherman - Danny Elfman

Lately Elfman's scores have just been in one ear and out the other. This is no different. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, it has a couple reasonably memorable tunes, it's orchestral and choral and well-orchestrated...the only tangible complaint I could think of about it is some of the Mickey-mousing in the first half. And yet I have absolutely no desire to return to this music. I'm not sure if it's Elfman or whether I'm just going through a phase of not being interested in his music... slant

He, he....I gotta admit, though, I absolutely LOVE it when my own preference goes against the majority on any given issue.

    NP : LEGEND - Clannad

I've no idea why this album isn't called ROBIN OF SHERWOOD? confused

Whatever. This is a brilliant album and my only complaint is that it's too short.

Nope. It's always my genuine preferences. Which makes it all the more satisfying. It amuses me when other people take a different preference than their own as a personal affront, which becomes particularly evident when it's a minority view against a majority view.

    So amuse me, loaf! biggrin

    Probably for licensing reasons?

I created an mp3 album that has the artwork of the old vinyl single featuring the main theme. It is called ROBIN OF SHERWOOD and is augmented by a song from MACALLA that was part of the OST.

Also, it's part of Thor's M.O. to stir shit up. That's something he has admitted in the past and is something that gets off of.

    He, he...

It's not part of my MO to stir things up, exactly, but I've always found it fascinating how a minority view or different preference can apparently rile up certain people on a personal level. Stick to your guns, no matter how unpopular or minority your view is perceived by others; that's always been my mantra.

But Erik is right on one thing -- I've long since become accustomed to his somewhat 'dramatic' way of expressing himself, so I don't take it personally when he says stuff like 'weirdtarded' or whatever. That's just his way of talking.
