I didn't say I didn't like it Edmund. I like "bits" of Two Steps too.

There's some nice bits in this.

Indeed smile I liked: 'My people were horsemen', 'I won't leave you', the excellent The opening cue (main title, "Pompeii") is a very good piece, including the choral rendition in the end "Praying for Help". I wish we heard this main theme more often in the score.

So both of you like this but not Two Steps? confused

You like The Desolation of Smaug but not Evil Dead? confused

Since Smaug isn't 25% awesome and 75% stingers, yes. Those two scores aren't stylistically similar, though, so your argument makes no sense.

Actually, it's your argument that makes no sense.

A person can like one score and not like another.

    Get over it!

Good, oldfashioned rock'n'roll score & songs! I dig it.

I've only listened to it once to be fair, but it seems to match my memory of it! And we all know memory is flawless in every way.

  7. NP: Lionheart - Jerry Goldsmith

Some vintage Goldsmith on this score. But a lot of the synths are borderline annoying - but manage to stay on the right side of listenability...just.

    U571 - Richard Marvin

This is much better than I remember. Very entertaining action music. The main heroic theme is quite generic but the more emotional theme, heard in 'Dedication', is quite beautiful.

    Really?
I really, really like this score!
But then, to be honest, it's been a LOOOOOOONG while since I heard it.
I should probably give it another go.

  9. I do like it. As I hinted at, the synths work well with the orchestra. But I can hear how they could become really annoying. But, on this occasion, Goldsmith makes it work (for my ears.)

  10. NP: Russland (2010) - Kolja Erdmann

Well, this has LotR all over it, few russian stereotypes on the other hand. A grand orchestral score.

I love the score, but LOTR never came to mind. It's more the grand melancholic Russianisms that you can find in stuff like, say, THE HUNT FOR THE RED OCTOBER.
    I am extremely serious.
