WINNER OF THE HOLLYWOOD INVESTIGATOR’S TABLOID WITCH AWARD for Best Music Soundtrack 2012
Blood Rush is a low budget horror comedy that, according to genre review site “Hacked in the Head “takes its low budget, sticks two fingers up at the constraints, and delivers something funny, suspenseful, gory and really quite captivating”.
Essentially a zombie movie, the Evan Marlowe directed film features a score by Michael Daniel, a young composer whose music is both stylish and original. Building the score around a syncopated rhythmic main motif, agitated riffs and tongue-in-cheek themes involving both harpsichord and banjo, Daniel has composed a score that surprises with its sometimes complex harmonic ideas. The semi-bitonal closing piano piece is a highlight!
