  1. The Max Steiner Award 2014 seems to go to Randy Newman.

    That's nice.

    However, the program this year is not strong enough for me to take the trip. Yes, I'm more fond of Randy Newman these days than I used to be, but he's far from my favourite composer. And the 'comedy' part of the concert with a bunch of songs(?) from stuff like SISTER ACT, MONTHY PYTHON, THE MUPPETS etc. is not my cup of tea.

    The good thing, however, is that this may free up other film music events this year!
    I am extremely serious.

    I like some of his scores but the comedy angle is definitely not worth a trip. Maybe for the better, as Vienna is expensive but I'd definitely like to revisit hollywood in vienna when Chris Young gets the Max Steiner award. biggrin
