I really hope that smiley means you´re kidding. This pic made me go completely nuts and giddy. If this is how the movie will look like, I bet I´ll see it more than once. Per Day. Honestly, just give me my old ship back, and I´ll be happy for all eternity.

It means that we've seen about fifteen new enterprises in all the spin-offs since the sixties, and it's funny -and in no small way quite ironic- to me that the newest new Enterprise is the original Enterprise.

Is this for the film that William Shatner wasn't going to be in - about the young crew - until he got all upset?

    Yes.

    Interesting.

I loved Star Trek: The Original Series. I've enjoyed some - though not all - of the films. When I first read about the planned Next Generation I was dubious, but ended up enjoying the series. I didn't really see enough of Enterprise to judge it, but I did quite like Deep Space Nine.

But don't you agree that the producers are flogging a good idea to death? There's so much self-referencing in the francise it's actually quite incestuous. In a way, it shows a lack of imagination on the part of the producers.
  3. I think they did everything possible with that universe. I think with the end (Enterprise) the were already flogging a dead horse. If there´s one thing that the final season showed then it was that fans are still very hooked by the classic series. So if there is anything within that universe that could somehow reenlighten the flame I think it has to be done with the classic crew. And that´s what they are doing, so I am optimistic, but cautious.

I read a article that said its pretty much the same on the outside but really different on the inside, I guess they want to start the series over, like Bond and Batman.

I don't understand why Shat is all upset. Kirk is dead.

When someone makes a derogatory sexual innuendo or says innuendo, it is usually replied to with 'in your endo'.

    You said 'Giacchino ontop'.

    I asked 'in your endo?'

    It certainly does!

At the moment I'm not so bothered about what Giacchino is going to give us with this movie: there's more important things to consider...and the fact that when Zachary Quinto first appears as Spock in the trailer it gave me goosebumps.

But, Simon Pegg as Scotty? I'm not so sure...

The fact that Zachary Quinto is in it presents problems for me. He's the computer guy from season 3 of 24 with the massively long nose, only now he's got funny ears too. tongue

At the moment I just see Sylar. I'm sure once I see the movie, I will see Spock. He really does look like a young Leonard Nimoy though! shocked

    Thanks for the explanation wink

As for Alan's remarks, seriously, there's nothing more important at the film music calendar for me right now apart this release; and maybe Angels and Demons.

I love Trek too, particularly TOS that looks interesting to me. I wonder what trek purists will make of it?
