    Yikes, that's early.

Who in their right mind would buy tickets before a single guest is announced?

I think someone like me who lives in Belgium can already buy the ticket as there are no additional travel expenses so I will go whoever the guests are.
Btw, cannot be worse than last year biggrin

I have no idea why they do this. Makes no sense.

However. Some people of the concert organization went to London at the beginning of December to have a chat with Danny Elfman and check out his concert. Could he be the next guest? smile

Or Thomas Newman. But I guess he'll be working on Bond around that time.

I'm definitely back in for this year if the guests make it worth it. Less beer this time though.

Hang on, what the fuck am I saying?

Indeed. Stop talking nonsense! We need more classic moments like you, me, Bregt and Alberto Iglesias, in a drunken stupor outside pubs at 5 o'clock in the morning.

All right Lee. Would be great again to have a large group of MainTitles in Ghent. Book a few days extra. I'll be a Belgian tour guide.

The central guest will be announced this week. Their Facebook page will give hints as from today about his/her name. The first person who knows, wins goodies and tickets.

Silvestri would be fantastic! One of the few remaining Top 10 composers of mine I haven't yet met.

It's impossible to be Thomas Newman or Elfman I think. No connection with Jeniffer.

Dude, you gotta read the CLUES! He or she has to have scored films starring Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez and Scarlett Johansson.

Giacchino has scored no movies with Jolie and Lopez and only an obscure 1999 film starring Johansson.

JNH has scored a few films with Angelina Jolie and the film JUST CAUSE with a young Johansson, but no movies with Jennifer Lopez. Plus, he was there 3 years ago already.

So I still say Silvestri is the safest bet.

Yes, you are all right, but in facebook, some people thought that could be Giacchino or Newton Howard, and I don´t know all the filmographies of Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie or Scarlett Johansson

Yes, it's definitely Alan Silvestri, no doubt about it now.

The World Trade Center features heavily in his latest film, the documentary THE WALK by Robert Zemeckis:

Silvestri is a cool choice, even though he is not a favourite composer of me. It'll be a loud and big orchestra concert then this year, with classic themes and lots of fun, after the past few more quieter concerts.

I think it will be great. I'm a bit worried that he's a bit too "big" for me to get an interview, but I hope not. He's one of the main reasons why I got into film music in the first place, and I've always regretted not going when he was in Vienna a few years back.

  2. Just checked Wikipedia...apparently in the Super Mario Bros movie the Twin Towers are replaced by the "Koopa Towers". Does that count? If not, I don't think Silvestri's ever scored any movies featuring the WTC...unless really brief background appearances are enough. Apparently there's one in Eraser.

Edit: ...never mind, Thor's makes more sense. tongue

    Here's the hint:

    http://twitter.com/WSAwards/status/570247433579569152

It's refers to Plutonium-244, which is the main power source of the Delorean in BACK TO THE FUTURE.

At this point, they're just HAMMERING it in! smile
