Enemy At The Gates | James Horner

The brilliant 15 minute opening is... well, brilliant. If I'm ever feeling a bit down, angry or depressed, this track is a great 'release' track. Relieves tension! I love this score.

Agree. A personal favourite Horner since the moment I watched the film.

I love the scene in the film but never liked the track on it's own. I would have preferred the scene played without music.

    Yeah, I'd agree with that.

The film is actually very good but I've seen it enough times Not to want to purchase Horner's score ( though I do have it on a CDR ) which I have no problem with in context with the film.

Ed Harris in particuler is excellent as the Nazi sniper.

Why not? Don't you like the 734 variations on the 4-note danger motif?
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

It´s 735 actually, but Horner manages to make ´em sound different each time.

I´ll contact with Jordi, I´m really curious about this "Ten Commandments" - "Hoist the Colours" thing.

What do you want, Marselus? My msn is not working..

Hoist the colours suite, with this epic ending with the bells and Chorus reminds me to the Ten Commandaments (or the last minute of the chariot Race realeased oficially as a suiete).

    NP Operation Crossbow (Ron Goodwin)
Pretty impressive score. Addictive main theme, and the final three cues, "Ascent on the Cable Car" - " Descent and Fight on the Cable Car" - "End Title" are simply great. Reminds me a lot of Medal of Honor.

  1. Those final three cues are from WHERE EAGLES DARE, also by Goodwin.

Alright... the Jordi challenge. What are the odds that Jordi comes back to us in a few weeks time singing this scores praises. Anyone? Anyone?

I've no idea but it is kind of odd placing them way after the actual score and after the source music?

Maybe to break up a possible monotony?

    You come on!!!!!!!!!!!!

At World's End and Ratatouille were on my Best of 2007 list. However, I never warmed up to Lust, Caution. Angel on the other hand is just absolutely brilliant from start to finish - gorgeous themes, great throw back to a more Golden age sound, incredibly emotional, etc. Simply put... it's AMAZING!
