NP : SILK - Ryuichi Sakamoto

I'll stick with this lovely music and give the film a miss. cool

I'll give the 'hero award' (just like Bregt became a hero for walking on the Great Wall biggrin ) to anyone who can go repeatedly over "Clockwork" from ATLI ORVARSSON's - VANTAGE POINT more than 1 time on high volume!
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

The brass writing in the incredibly elaborate action cues Wolfe Pack and Hog Chase Pt 1 & 2 is stunning. A great electronics vs. orchestra score too.

NP: Arsene Lupin - Debbie Wiseman

Again, this is Wiseman's BEST score. Wonderful stuff... it covers all sorts of territory and possibly the best import score I've gotten my hands on. She should shop this soundtrack whenever any music producers doubt her abilties to compose great action music. And give her something other than rom-coms and made-for-TV films, for crying out loud!

Haven't listened to this in ages. It's great!
  1. NP: Julius Caesar - Rozsa

Top stuff! Sounds like every other Rozsa I've heard, but for all that it's very good.

    Ratatouille | Michael Giacchino

Completely deserving of its Oscar nomination. (Just like the film was completely deserving of its Oscar win.) This is the Giacchino I love infinitely more than Lost, Medal of Honor or Mission Impossible III.

One of the most charming scores I have in my collection!

Don´t agree, at all! Nice, charming score as you say, but nothing more (and nothing less). IMO, his Medal of Honor saga, MI:3, Lost and the rest of his videogames scores are in another league, a major one.

Nah, Ratatouille has so much more personality than any of those scores. I'm a complete sucker for its charm, and it worked wonderfully in the film.

That scene where Remy is running through the plumbing and walls near the beginning of the film to finally end up on the roof over looking a night-time Paris is scored to perfection. Kudos to Giacchino!

LEGEND OF BAGGER VANCE | rachel portman

Beautiful! Second listen now and there's something about this score that haunts you when finished. While the more 'fun' part of the score doesn't really fit the overall mood, it's one great score. Now I know where Zimmer got his inspiration for Pearl Harbors love theme.

I love this score too. Shame that two particularly great tracks didn't make it on to the album, the Cygnus in darknes just before it lights up and the robot fight between Maximillian and the "other" one.....sorry, it's been a long loooonnnnnnnng time since I saw this film.

    NP:Lair Complete (Debney)

It makes me back to my travel to Rome. To an Ancient Cuture, and a gogeous city.

Anyway, this score is good for his own reasons, and for my ears is what LOTR is for many people.

A big, Complex, Sword and Sorcery score.

Apocalyptic feelings comes to my mind!

    MARCO BELTRAMI - the eye

Biggest crap from a major composer i've heard this year. Not that i expected anything out of such a rubbish movie but yeah, stay as away as possible.

    Agree.
Not even the composers are able to do something remotely interesting with all this american crappy remakes of (better) asian films.

Makes you wonder what Angelo Badalamenti would have come up with if they had kept him.
The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else.

Fun score. The album is a bit too long, but with a bit of editing here and there this makes one fun listen. Crazy Powell is back with this score! smile

As for the score, for me it´s Arnold´s best in the Bond franchise. The love theme is beautiful and the action stuff is terrific.

    PATRICK DOYLE - Great Expectations

Shame how massive parts of an otherwise lyrical score with an addictive main theme full of lush melodies and rich, colorful textures is spoiled by the screaming sounds and giggles of a chick having multiple orgasms over chirpin birds and flowers.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
