Have given this 6 or more listens and felt the urge to review it.

    listen to more classical music!
  1. It's plesant enough and certainly nothing wrong with it compositionally, but for me it's just like a plethora of scores from the last decade or so (for me): boring. I listened to three whole tracks, and just couldn't do it anymore.
The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else.

Thanks for the heads-up, Tom. I need to seek this one out.

Did you ever study composition Justin?

  3. Oh, please. Next you'll want to tell me I can only full appreciate a score if I watched the movie. Don't hand me these weak arguments. Scores apart from films have no other context but for the listener's personal enjoyment, and if somebody doesn't enjoy it, then there you have it.

That's not exactly true. Scores are released as part of film-related merchandise. We tend to listen apart from the picture just due to the composer name, but that's the minimum of the percentage of purchases. Most people buy the score after they watched the film and very often the scores themselves do have the memory of the experience of the film itself. That's how actually fandom of film scores starts and it becomes completely "divorced" from the film medium much later (if someone chooses to see it this abstract, at least. Some people don't, vide Volker).
