Here's a close up of what Miklos Rozsa's program was...

    http://www.johnbarry.org.uk/1972concert … 0-%206.jpg

You'll notice that Rozsa conducts some Vaughan Williams here. I've no idea why but it was the 'done thing' for composers to include a work or two by other composers, you may have noticed in John Barry's program that he includes Jerome Moross theme to THE BIG COUNTRY, JB considered the theme one of the best ever written ( he's right! ) and I can detect Moross influence in JB's work.

Here is the opening and closing titles of A Family At War, Tom...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y11bhs21Ek

A TV drama set in Liverpool during WW II the title sequence combined with the music is so simple and yet so poignant and effective, a sandcastle with a union jack stuck on top, it says so much.

I think I've mentioned before that I think this is one of the most simply effective title sequences in TV history.

You aren't alone, hardly anyone has Captain.

I've never seen it. Though I could probably tell you every feature film JB has scored without having to look up his discography.

Yeah, I believe it's shown up on various threads at FSM. There are times I think John Barry is second in popularity only to the ( very touchy ) Jerry Goldsmith fans at the FSM forum.
