It'd probably work a bit better if your "favourites of all time" wouldn't change every two weeks or so. smile

I'm still intrigued by your admiration of The Secret Of NIMH, though. I always found it one of Goldsmith's most bland and unmemorable efforts (the terrible, saccharine film did nothing to help, that's for sure...slant )

It's a great score though it does have some jarring moments.

Would I be right that your not partial to Debussy or Ravel?

Us Gods of War know how to deal with bronze feet!
(We melt 'em down into canon!)

Anyway, yeah, there is little I find of merit in NIMH, so generally I'm already annoyed well before the last cue. I'll give it another shot today, though. But I hate that insepid song.angry Looooove iiiiiis the keeeeeeey vomit

I agree with you Martijn on the song...... vomit indeed!

There's some very jarring moments in the brass at times too, particularly that OTT trumpet in a particular track ( can't r'member which one? ), the score still get's 4 / 5 from me though!

    Yeap Agree.

The Main theme, Specially with trumpet and the Main song is annoying.

Luckly the rest of the score is almost a mini Symphonic piece ,darker and more agressive. The Fusion of Chorus and National Philarmonic is incredible.

    Im so fool...

I always loved Biblical-Roman movies. And his scores.....And I never have heard Masada Enought!!

    Why is that???

It's an epic movie about jewish and Romans! One of the few dramatic epic movies from Goldsmith.

WIth violin solos, duduks, flutes....Rozsas Marches.....

From now in my top 10!

    Sadly is too short!

Masada really could do with a cleaned up deluxe release, the CD sounds worse than the LP.
