Here we go – 25 clips, identify the composer and name of each score, for a total of up to 50 points.

    A few pointers:

There are 25 different clips – but only 16 different composers.

The films are in chronological order and span 48 years. (NB there are three years which feature multiple clips from films released in the same year – in those cases, I have simply alphabetised them based on the films’ titles. Making it even easier!)

The theme of the game is “Journey” – each of the films is about, or features prominently, a journey. There’s no trickery – these are all physical journeys from one place to another.

However, to add a bit of spice, three of the clips are completely unrelated to the general theme. To narrow it down a little: all three of those clips are prime numbers.

I hope the game isn’t too easy. Here are some clues for a few of the clips.

Clip 2 – the film is well-known for being a very famous actor’s final screen appearance
Clip 6 – the film’s title suggests an air of finality about this journey
Clip 8 – has there ever been a more distinctive film composer?
Clip 10 – the shortest journey featured in this list, but also one of the more treacherous
    Clip 11 – this one’s from television
Clip 17 – the journey is an important but relatively small part of this film
Clip 19 – damn the focus groups
Clip 20 – this journey is made on the most unusual form of transportation in this list
Clip 21 – the longest journey featured in this list
Clip 22 – this film has received more theatrical showings than all the others on this list added together – but nobody has ever paid specifically to see it
Clip 24 – the journey’s pretty much the same as the one in Clip 1

Because there are 25 clips I’m afraid I’m too lazy to link to them all individually. You can download a ZIP containing all 25 at this link:

    Download the clips

Submit your entries to me by PM by Saturday. Maximum of two submissions per person per clip. Good luck!

There's no such thing as "too many games".

That said, this is the official game. Anthony is simply rebelling against our system.

just a sidenote: too many games

I agree but I said about two weeks ago I'd be doing this, spent hours and hours preparing it, and didn't want to wait to bring it out.

True, but you can just play the ones that you want to.

I'll be limiting myself to the weekly "official" contest.

This is certainly a difficult set of clips. And again, I had more luck with the older scores. I'm not sure where I'm going to get the inspiration to amass a few more points - certainly enough points to equal the score that Peter feels he can get!

Yes, two for each clip. Though I don't imagine that rule will be strictly enforced.
