  1. It was great! Thank you to everyone! Next time I plan on not joining late or leaving early, as I’m sure I missed a lot. I remember you were talking about Steven Seagal. Fun fact of the day: Steven Seagal owns a ranch just a few miles to the north of me. He actually just put his ranch up for sale! You're not going to believe how much it's listed for! shocked https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/4221 … 2943_zpid/ He was our claimed celebrity resident in the area…that is until Justin Bieber bought a vacation home in town this summer. rolleyes
  2. $10,900,000!!

Seagal, a good friend of Putin's, moved to Russia, I think.

  4. It was so much fun to see everyone, some for the first time, others that I haven't seen for so long. I will definitely try to be there for the next time, and I'll make sure my fridge is stocked with beers.

Cailin, that was so awesome that you lived so close to him. Goes to show, everyone lives around a famous person one way or another, whether you like it or not.

I'm only regaining consciousness today. Spent yesterday hovering in and out of consciousness, that's how hung over I was.

Great to see everyone who showed up. Thanks especially to Thomas and Bregt for hanging in there for so long!

Ditto! The difference between the Maintitles and FSM sessions is very noticeable, mood-wise. Not saying that one is necessarily better than the other, but the FSM part is usually more niche/special interest. And with more people (even though the Maintitles attendance was also record high this time). So thanks to Thomas and Bregt, who managed to stay with the FSM crowd for that amount of time.

Next meeting will probably be in early December. I'm open to expanding the Maintitles bit with one hour, i.e. starting 18:00 rather than 19:00, but one never knows how many people will attend, or how that will affect the non-European members (being rather early in what is a work day).
    I am extremely serious.
  5. Ok for me to expand for maintitles

Don't get me wrong, very funny and nice people of FSM but I often had trouble following simply because I had no idea what they were talking about wink

Yes. Particularly Jim Phelps, Drew and Howard are very much into old US and UK televison/film, exotica albums, jazz and that kind of stuff. I can follow a bit of this (I was delighted when I could just throw out the name 'Alan Hawkshaw' there in the last session), but I'm not on their level.

I think it's fine to let them 'geek out' over those things once in a while; we can't all share the same interest or passion for things, but then make sure to pull it back into more 'common ground' eventually. Let everyone get to talk at least a little bit about what THEY'RE interested in (film music or otherwise), while hopefully also finding interest in listening to and learning about what they're NOT that interested in.

It's a very "rag tag" group of people brought together here, so there's gotta be some give and take throughout. After a few sessions, one gets used to how the whole thing works.
    I am extremely serious.
  6. I enjoy all the discussions that there are, whether I know much about the subjects or not.

Though I do hold my head in my hands when Thor asks the question guaranteed to feature in every chat, what do people think about the FSM messageboard/Stephen's Zoom meetings. You must have had too much to drink by then Thor to remember everyone's answers each time. wink

God, did I ask that again? Yes, that's probably WAY into the session and the drinks. I think it's something that pops up in my drunken mind whenever the talk gets a little "seminar"-like.

If you feel the chat is going a way you'd rather not see it going as something like 'what's your favourite colour?' or, 'if a film composer were a sound what would that sound be?' wink

Even though I did enjoy this last session, I do prefer previous sessions with fewer people. It just is more personal and I feel it's more 'constructive'.

Good chat! It's indeed harder to follow when the FSM crowd comes in, but I had fun and loved that Thomas, Erik and Joep joined too! Pity we didn't see Joep.

I drank 3 stronger beers, which was a long time ago. I felt that the day after. I blame it on having a kid, or the age. I have become weak. The day after is even harder with kids, because kids are always on steroids. spin

Hopefully, Kaat would allow you a bit of extra time the next morning, "shielding" you from your kid for an hour or two. But only 3 beers? That's disconcerting. We need to get you back in beer shape! beer

OK, the next -- and LAST before 2021 -- get-together is:

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4TH AT 18:00 OSLO TIME.

That's in two weeks' time. It's one hour earlier than usual, because I wanted some extra time for Maintitles. That leaves three whole hours just for us.

I have a challenge to y'all -- put up some Christmas elements in your Zoom window, in the background or otherwise. And buy some Christmas-themed beverages.

I'll be back with a link in due time.
    I am extremely serious.
  9. Christmas! Christmas! Bah, humbug. wink

Don't worry. I will make an effort! wink

Apparently, in Scotland, New Year was more celebrated than Christmas, with holidays being more of a thing for New Year rather than Christmas.

I bought my haul today. A bottle of red wine, and several different beers -- including 3-4 Christmas beers.

I hope some of you put up some Christmas decoration in the background, as previously noted. Just for atmosphere.

By the way, it's FRIDAY, not Saturday, Thomas.

  12. Ah yes, good you said it to me :p
Will be able to stay for 2 and a half hours
