    As far as I can tell, our last meeting (no. 18) was August 27th last year. That's almost half a year ago, believe it or not, and I was showing people around my summer place in Denmark. I'm partially to blame (and my schedule), but I've also had this nagging feeling that the forum is even deader than it was (if that's possible) and that people are not perhaps as interested in these as during the pandemic. Be that as it may, I have a suggestion for the next meet-up:

    FRIDAY, MARCH 10th, 2023 at 6PM Oslo time

    No worries! The singing, the kazoo playing, the excessive drinking and all the other gung ho things that defined the early Zoom meetings are no longer a feature! smile

  12. This isn't going to be an issue for Friday as I have a workaround but an answer to my question would be good more generally.

    Has anyone else experience a problem with hearing audio from others on a Zoom call? I can't see where there could be an issue because all the potential problem areas appear normal in terms of settings. And I am fed up looking for help online when all the suggestions are asking whether things are plugged in properly, have you unmuted things, or reinstall Zoom plug-ins/browser/operating system.

    I actually stunted a brief Zoom chat yesterday evening, with me and two other people. I first had to reinstall the Zoom app after I got my laptop back with a wiped harddrive. But I did not experience any sound issues, I'm afraid, Alan, so can't help you with your problem.

    I think we were all starving for social contact at the time, and this Zoom thing was a new gadget that opened up some venues. So we (or at least I) got all of the big party shenanigans out in those first meetings. Now it's just normal, informal "pub talk", which is probably better. Be that as it may, do stock up on beverages for our Friday meet!

    Now THAT was a meeting! Woke up 11.45 today, hung over, but reasonably ok. Loved it from start to finish. Impressed Bregt and Thomas stayed with us quite a bit into the FSM bit.

    Highlights included Bregt's kids, snow machines, Cailin's "stolen copyright property", the value of reviews and - probably my favourite bit - what one's significant other feels about one's film music passion.

    It must be frustrating for Joep with all the technical difficulties. We're used to not having video, but this time there wasn't even sound. If I had been you, Joep, I would have allied myself with a computer-savvy person and sorted it out once and for all.

    Well done, Bregt! We finished about 1:40 Oslo time, which was about 40 minutes longer than expected, but still reasonable compared to some of those early meetings that would last beyond 3:00.
