  1. Following on from a Zoom discussion last week I thought that I would start a separate topic where we could gather disco/funk versions of film themes.

    One example that was mentioned was Lalo Schifrin's version of JAWS:

    This one's a bit more simple that Lalo's adaption but it's still quite catchy.

  3. That Jaws remix is pretty fun! And I was cracking up reading some of the YouTube comments. The electronics in the Halloween one are a bit much for me, but definitely unusual!

    Wish I had more to contribute in this thread, but most of the disco I love isn't really 'film themes', but albums in their own right. That being said, I love Moroder's MUSIC FROM BATTLESTAR GALACTICA AND OTHER ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS from 1978.

    Obviously, there's Meco and all that. The remix of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS is a neat 'verfremdungseffect' at the end of the OST.

    Ha, ha. No, that's more like classic 90s Eurodance. Gotta love those string samples at the time. I remember this remix well.

    Ignore the labelling on this track - it IS NOT the "Parade of the Ewoks". And it's definitely not disco nor funk.

    It is, in fact, "Princess Leia's Theme". And it's almost as good as the original!
