Composer Chris Tilton, known for his work on "Alias" and the video games Mercenaries and BLACK, has a new game - Jumper: Griffin's Story. Inspired by the new Twentieth Century Fox film, Tilton recorded his game score with a 72-piece orchestra this past fall at Warner Brothers, and ScoringSessions.com has exclusive photos and music samples from the project!

    Enjoy!

It's amazing how video game scores are taking off.

I haven't heard the full score (obviously) but those couple tracks sound better than the entire Jumper score by Powell.

Interesting, is this going to be released? It would be interesting to see how it compares to Powell's score (Tiltons is probably better). confused

    From Chris:

''A official release seems unlikely, but I'm going to see what I can do about making it available nonetheless.''

    Let's hope!

I live in Hamilton, Ontario - about 1 hour drive west of Toronto and a 5 hour flight from Seattle. smile

Chris's score has been recorded... it was recorded early last year but the game has been delayed which is why there has been no word concerning the score or a release. Now, the game doesn't come out until later this year and since Pandemic is now owned by EA, Chris now thinks that a soundtrack release is likely. It's a score that I highly recommend!

    RE: Mercenaries 2 soundtrack

    From Hermione at MMUK:

I went to Best Buy to preorder Mercenaries 2 for XBOX 360 (since I knew Best Buy had preorder deal with the free musical score), and I was delighted to find that the CD of Chris Tilton's kick-ass score was actually included in the preorder box! ;D

It's $5 to preorder (which is subtracted from the cost of the game when you go to purchase it on or after 8/31), but even if you don't want the game itself, you can go to Best Buy and "preorder" the game, just to get the score for only $5! Best Buy doesn't take your info or anything, so there's no obligation to go back and buy the actual game. (Note that there is no leaflet or track listing or anything - just the CD. But it's so worth it!!!)

Or you can wait and download the score from iTunes, which will have additional edits (not sure how extensive). OR you can get the preorder CD now and then download the edited version later!

    Chris Tilton's Reply:

I'm surprised they gave away this pre-order bonus so early. Nevertheless, there will be an iTunes, Amazon MP3, etc release that will be DRM free (as with all EA releases now) a week after the game comes out. There's also a few minutes of additional music on the official release that's not on this pre-order CD, though it will have the same track listing.

Edit: Oh, and the iTunes release will feature a digital booklet pdf designed by Ryan Keaveney

    Tracklisting:

    1. Mercenaries 2 Main Theme
    2. Solano's Villa
    3. Betrayal
    4. Streets of Venezuela
    5. Hostile Waters
    6. Taking Out the Rig
    7. Solano Problem
    8. Big Oil Bender
    9. Universal Petroleum
    10. Oil's Well That Ends Well
    11. The A.N. Invades
    12. Jungle Brawl
    13. Grotto del Guerilla
    14. Freedom Fighter Free-For-All
    15. Bunker Busting
    16. PMC Ya Later!
    17. Battle at Caracas
    18. Going After Solano
    19. End Credits

    performed by the Northwest Sinfonia

It's a killer score guys. "Jungle Braw"l is my favorite track. Could be one of my all time favorite percussion cues. I also love that guitar solo right in the middle of the piece! A brilliant track!

I just visited Chris Tilton's website http://www.christilton.com and found his score to the short film "La Lune" is available for download (mp3 at 256kbps). I feel sort of obliged to run around and recommend it because it is such a beautiful, lovely and moving score. I got tears in my eyes when listening to it.

Think "End Creditouilles" but in a more delicate form and without all the jazzy part.
