Yeah there's a short "promo" that looked like it was taken from a planned OST and a crap game rip (is there any game in the world with a good one?!)

I'm hearing whispers on various game music boards and sites that an official soundtrack for Assassin's Creed is about to surface soon. Keep an eye for it.

Small Soldiers videogame by Giacchino (ripped from the redbook audio tracks). Very good! As much fun as Goldsmith's version.

Jesper's Kyd music for Freedom Fighters is arguably his best, with impressive choir and battle cues. Hitman 2 has some stunning material as well...

Well if you look at the file names if you download that it clearly looks like it came from a longer release (as it's like track 01, 04, 12, 15 etc.)

From Music4Games - Ubisoft is going to release its soundtrack catalogue on Amazon and iTunes. The first batch includes Kyd's work for Assassin's Creed along with Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. and Far Cry 2 by Tom Salta and Marc Canham respectively.

Earlier this summer, award-winning composer Jesper Kyd recorded his score to the anticipated video game sequel Assassin's Creed II at Capitol Records in Hollywood, with an A-list group of musicians. Be sure to check out ScoringSession.com's exclusive photo gallery from the recording sessions, and sample some of the music from the upcoming soundtrack!

Couldn't agree more, it's a very enjoyable score in all aspects. Combining even Clint Mansell in the whole lot, it has something for everyone.

I wasn't particularly interested in the original Assassin's Creed but this one is certainly worth a look - and is worth the 2-CD set. Though I can see how some people may find it a bit repetitive thematically. But I like the themes so I'm loving the quantity as well as the quality.

It's certainly been a while since a Jasper Kyd score has got my attention as much as Assassin's Creed II.

The bold themes are this score's greatest quality, for sure.

I guess being a dane I should have some more Jesper Kyd. slant

I enjoy "Hitman 2", very entertaining throughout. It doesn't bother me that it's somewhat simplistic. Are all his scores as entertaining as that one?

Not really, although our resident Jesper Kyd expert is Martijn, i'd recommend the 2nd hitman score, HITMAN 2: Silent assasin, if i am not mistaken that's the one with the Prague Philharmonic orchestra and a choir and it's pretty, pretty good. Epic and grand with an edgy modern touch simultaneously. This new Assasins' Creed score is very good too, indeed. I wonder how the original is.

  4. Freedom Fighters is also worth checking out, as it has incredible choral tracks and some addictive themes.

I've listened to ACII and it's definitely original, and has a filmic approach to the music. But it's way too long.
