    Nice one, DT!
    Thanks!

Much as I love Kyd, two disks of the same material IS stretching it a bit.

  2. OK, I will have a listen later. His AC II score is very good (in truncated form) and I've always loved his work on Freedom Fighters and Hitman 2.

But why only 3.5 stars for such a glowing review D? rolleyes

Many few scores deserve 4+ stars these days. I know i haven't followed this tactic in the past, but we learn as we grown. The text is what matters, the stars is a terribly subjective system anyway.

indeed D, a four star rating today doesn't reflect at all a 4 star rating of a score 10 years ago, welcome to the problem I have with each goddamn score wink

    nice review though smile

Nice review. I listened to the score earlier and really liked it, especially the deep male choir mixed with very well-done electronic textures.

I can do some generic templates for you, so you'll just need to enter the composer name and title?

    Good score:
"It's been a long time since such a haunting score came along, with such sweeping melodies, rich textures and powerful rhythm. <composer name> has really outdone himself with this one, after a certain slump in the past.
<title> is one of those all too infrequent works to come along these days to really capture one's attention, and the emotional turn will grab attentive listener as unexpectedly as pleasingly! A rare beauty, and a fine addition to anyone's collection.
    Highly recommended!"

    Bad score:
"Yet another generic drone of a score, <title> falls as flat as the dozens of scores coming out each month in the same vein. <composer name> uses synthesized guitars and orchestra as so many others, and while possibly but not necessarily functional in the movie, the CD offers little but annoyed boredom after about 45 seconds into the first track. Eminently skippable.
    Tippable even.
    Into the bin."

    You're welcome.

  7. oh, if life was as simple as that wink

I'll take it in consideration Martijn smile

  8. Don't consider it bro. It'll take away your soul. Templates are only good for word-processing.

Villa Under Attack and Fight Of The Assassins.
  9. I'm interested in Assassin's Creed, because when I read about it on Wikipedia, the words "orchestral", "choir", and "electronic" jumped out at me when I read about its music, despite never having played the game -- or for that matter, owning an XBOX 360.

  10. I don't hear what's so special about Brotherhood. Two listens was more than enough. Give me his more thematic, rousing stuff like Freedom Fighters or Hitman 2.

The 2010 Soundtrack Geek Awards? biggrin

  11. And now his Assassin's Creed II music is also being used for more than just a video games music.

A very fine performance, by the way wink
