Somebody posted LLLR's comment from their Facebook. I'll sum it up:
They reminded that The X-Files box is around 200 copies left (he said that at FSM two or three weeks ago), and that because of the sales, Volume 2 will be out in 2012.The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

After a number of months, Quartet is finally putting out:
"February 21 is time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of James Bond, with the 45th anniversary of the Burt Bacharach masterpiece for CASINO ROYALE. DeLuxe 2-CD set includes, for the first time, the complete original score + album version + 52-page full color booklet..."
Also...
Post by an FSM member today:
I recently e-mailed James Fitzpatrick over at Tadlow Music asking him if they've ever considered a re-recording of THE COLLECTOR, perhaps my favorite score by Jarre. Imagine my surprise when he replied saying he had just recorded a suite from the film for full orchestra, including the incredible end credits music! He also said it would probably be a double cd, to include new recordings of SHOGUN, TAI-PAN, BEHOLD A PALE HORSE, THE BRIDE, THE MESSAGE, TO DIE IN MADRID, and, best of all. a 25 minute suite from Jarre's ballet NOTRE DAME DE PARIS! Thought I'd pass this on to fellow Jarre aficionados...The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

Hints for Music Box Records:
Two new titles coming very soon. Official announcement will be done in a few days. Clue: the two titles and composers are connected to each other...The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

Well, yeah, let's hope the composers are connected to the titles. -

FMR is reporting that a score CD of "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" is being released next month. It states the score is composed by Andrew Lockington. There had been a report recently that Lockington was being replaced....is this no longer the case? I hope so!

Posting by MV not too long ago today:
To address some questions:
1. We hope to do more Bat related titles this year. Fingers crossed.
2. The title is selling very well.
3. Yes you are a terrible person, but we love you any way.
4. The full blown theme of BTAS incorporating both Elfman and Walker's themes is the best Batman theme EVER!
MV
#2 was in regards to how well "Batman Forever" is selling, and for those curious, a fan asked if he was a bad person for liking Goldenthal's theme over Elfman's (#3).The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

I can't help but think that the first question is related to Batman & Robin. -

I know, I read that as well, but this could very well be a marketing trick. Diminishing hopes a Batman & Robin release will arrive in the (near) future will boost sales on a release many already have on the commercial album simply to get more Goldenthal Batman material. As soon as this release of Batman Forever will prove successful and sells out, they'll announce a B&R release. Mark my words, this release WILL happen. -

There is a genuine reason preventing Batman and Robin from being released, but it may go away if time heals certain wounds. -

New:
Quartet Records is proud to presents two new releases from recent Spanish cinema:
BLACKTHORN
Music Composed and Conducted by Lucio Godoy
The legendary outlaw Butch Cassidy supposedly died in 1908 in a shootout with the Bolivian army. The truth is that he’s been hiding in Bolivia for 20 years. And now he has decided to return back home…
For this crepuscular modern wester about the last days of Butch Cassidy, directed by Mateo Gil and starring Sam Shepard, Stephen Rea and Eduardo Noriega, the score has been composed by the Argentine-born composer Lucio Godoy.
Godoy has achieved a beautiful balance in this project by a side composing main melodies of classic flavor, and providing it by other side a melancholy atmosphere in a elegiac tone, with a touch mild of humor and even subtle Latin America references.
Recorded in Budapest with the Hungarian Symphony Orchestra, and with David Gwynn as guitar soloist. Sam Shepard performed two original songs.
MIENTRAS DUERMES (SLEEP TIGHT)
Music Composed and Conducted by Lucas Vidal
The plot: Cesar works as a doorman in a Barcelona apartment building. Happiness eludes him and he feels the need to reaffirm his reasons for living on a daily basis. He goes about his day to day work mainly unnoticed by the residents of the building, but he pays close attention to them. He knows all the intimate details of their lives, everything about them, especially one of them. Clara is a happy-go-lucky young woman, who always looks on the positive side of things. Her cheery attitude to life makes Cesar’ skin crawl. He won’t be happy until he has wiped that smile of her face once and for all, because Cesar feeds off other people’s pain. He delights in the unhappiness and anguish of others and he loves nothing more than to plant the seed of misery and watch it grow. In Clara he has found the perfect target, and he will go to extreme lengths to make her life miserable. But Cesar is starting to get a bit too cocky, and soon his carefully thought out plans will start to unravel… Luckily for him, he has one last ace up his sleeve.
Intense thriller directed by Jaume Balaguero (Rec, Fragile, Darkness), and starring Luis Tosar and Marta Etura. The score has been composed by the welcome talent Lucas Vidal, a versatile and expressive Spanish Composer of 27 years old, who recently scored the feature films “The Raven” with John Cusack, and “The Cold Light of Day”, starring Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver.
Vidal creates a intense, exciting, rich melodic and full orchestral score with electronic overdues, recorded in the prestigious Abbey Road studios, under the baton of the composer.
Both titles are availables for pre-order now. CD's will ship the next January 20.

Update moments ago from MV:
YOWZA! The past 48 hours have been a whirlwind of sheer madness and fun.
I have some great news for you folks out there who may still want a copy of Friday the 13th Box Set.
The signing at Dark Delicacies today went fantastic, but the allotment of box sets set aside for the event did not get entirely depleted. A little less than 100 copies came back to us. We are going to put them back up for sale in the next day or so (depending on when my webmaster can get around to doing it).
Will keep you posted!
