You were able to cram in a lot of info in that parenthesis of yours! smile

Proper use of parentheses (and I'm not talking about single ones (slightly too uncomplicated as it won't allow for embedding of less-than-singular trains of thought or sidesteps essential to the thought at hand, while not important enough to warrant their own paragraph) but the many-layered us, together with semi-colons: an underappreciated art form indeed!) is less and less something that is employed on an enjoyably frequent basis; it is regrettable that ever since the days of Caesar the old three-page paragraph is something of the past (in honour of which I am (off on a tangent so askew it's nigh extending into the sixth dimension) thoroughly enjoying John Scott's Cleopatra right now).

    Oh heavens.
I am posting in the Zimmer thread.

    I have two questoins thomas,

Where is the "fanfare"? and why "mombasa" sounds like "Bird on a wire"?

    spin

I mention the 2 note as a fanfare, because for me it sounds like a fanfare, though short, it sort of bursts out of nowhere

and Mombasa has various hints towards his Bird on a Wire score (it was the first score that popped in my head whilst listening, perhaps its the rhythm that reminded me of it); but in general it is a throwback to a lot of scores from back then of Hans Zimmer, it simply stands for his sound back then

Probably why I like Inception the way I do. It has a bit of everything Zimmer did well back in the 90s. beer

If you put them all in a room with John Williams only Williams would be left standing and it wouldn't be Harry G. biggrin

I'm sure John Williams wouldn't like being put into a role of a murderer.

"It’s been a long twelve years since his only previous truly great score, The Thin Red Line "

he said the same about "frost/nixon" and "sherlock Holmes". But anyway... tongue
  9. Frost/Nixon was to him the best SINCE, not on the same level. Same for Sherlock, which he gave a 3,5 anyway. James is much more consistent than you think.
