Now back to seriousness. With the rumor that Hans Zimmer might retire or take a break soon, who do you think would score a third batman film if one gets made? A solo effort by James Newton Howard?

I thought Zimmer was only taking a year or so off to do concerts. The next Batman wouldn't come out til at least 2010, right? So in that case it wouldn't be a problem.
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!

He's only taking a year off, as far as I heard. I'd like to see him and JNH team up for the next (and next) Batman movie, too, anyway wink

Combing Jordi nigh-hagiographic approach of Zimmer scores and your laxative interest, I cannot help but deduce you've been re-reading Steven's post too many times.

    sad crazy

I just realized Zimmer will never surpass At world's End!!!!!

So many genres, so many addictive themes, so orchestral, so rich, so BIG, so colorful, so Exotic, so many long suites...

Special mention to " I don't think now is the best time" and Lord Becket's "goodbye".A very undefined character in the movies who has one of the most impressive deaths (the scene and the music) in the film story.

For sure. But with the capacity of be critic with him.

Talking about Kung Fu Panda ( tongue )... Being heard this score A LOT, Im sure if Powell never joined Zimmer, this score could have been another thunderbirds with Asian Arrengements. I mean a score with a couple of Great tracks but leaving a lot of stuff to his Clones.

Thanks God he have a couple of brilliant tracks by Zimmer, and a great guest who did the half (or more) of the job : John Powell.

    Kung Fu Panda:

"Tai Lung Escapes" is a real Zimmer track. The electronics mixed with Asian instrumentation is mind Blowing, then the Horns playing this honorable ( Evil ) theme, then turns into action with Thunderbirds orchestrations meets Horns Thrills from AWE.

"Peach tree of Wisdom": zimmer has composed a really touching and beautifull track.

"Sacred Pool.." it's an incredible mix of Zimmer and Powell. Diferent versions of the main themes, Epic, passages of reflexion and Chorus (does anyone notices some Prince of Egypt Choral moments? ).

    tongue Perhaps.

But Kung Fu panda is more varied than Prince of Egypt, and less synth in his totality than Lion King.

But yes, Probably I over reacted putting Panda in first position moon
