great! It seems Zimmer wants to be nominated again
About the solo violin in the explosion in sherlock Holmes....I don't think it's brilliant. It's one of the most annoying moments of Zimmer score. -

Took a helluva time to load on my computer, but worth it; excellent interview! Loved the tidbit about Lion King being a very "honest" score and a mature score for a kid's film. One of the prominent reasons why it's so close to my heart and my top favourite score of all time. -

You betcha. I just pray that holy day of an official expanded release isn't that far off. -

There's a difference between having a favourite score and being clinically and dangerously obsessed with a score. -

Obsessed? Me? Naaah.
I'm just lovingly passionate. -

Indeed. Great, long, sincere interview. He is pretty clear about the "collaborative" way of working ("collaboration is not a democratic process; I´m the benign dictator, there´s one point of view").Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -

His thinking process behind the Sherlock score is great too. -

Has anyone heard this?
• THE BURNING PLAIN, music by Hans Zimmer and Omar Rodriguez-LopezLove Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -
- CommentTimeJan 18th 2010
I think it doesn't have an official release (from what I heard there isn't a lot of score in the film). I listened to the End Credits piece and liked it, ethnic sounding strings and bass with mild electronics. -
- CommentTimeJan 18th 2010
Ah, sounds so much closer to my tastes than his other releases this year. Kinda Santaolalla / HGW-ish then?Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -
- CommentTimeJan 18th 2010 edited
Slightly Santaolalla-ish, yes. It has a lot of plucked instruments and woodwinds. Parts have slight similarity to HGW's style also, though there's very little electronic material (in fact I dunno if it's even electronics or not). It's pleasant to listen to, indeed. -

Yeap, i imagined from your description, how it'll sound already.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

PS~Thought I'd point out a minor typo, it should be "Max Steiner and King Kong". -
