I didn't like Lion King 2 much either. Nick Glennie-Smith's score was pretty cool, though. Shame it was not released at all.

As far as Disney sequels go though, I think it is one of the better ones. I wish the score would be released.

It's better than the others, yes. But nowhere near the quality of the first film, IMO.

Yeah. It also feels like that they had reused certain character animation on the sequel and gave me a weird sense of deja vu.

Disney is famous for reusing character animation. Have you seen this video?

Rhythm Of The Pridelands was released in 1995, before Lion King 2. Do you mean Return To Pride Rock? That is the one which had songs from TLK 2.

I think what Thomas mentioned is the opening song on TLK2, which actually is a shortened version of He Lives In You, originally released on Rhythm Of The Pride Rock ("Music Inspired by" album by Lebo M, Mancina, Zimmer etc)

Reusing animation is not unusual, and I believe Disney does that less compared to cheap Japanese TV cartoons wink

But it's not surprising they "reused" a lot on Robin Hood, because it was when the veterans soon retiring and the new talents emerging... they needed to imitate to learn from the legendary animators.
(Beauty & The Beast/Sleeping Beauty one is obviously an homage though)

    Sorry for off topic! wink

I doubt it. For James L Brooks, Hans has managed to provide different scores with varying sound and themes. Check I'll Do Anything, AGAIG, and Spanglish.

I have of course. I prefer SPANGLISH from all of the Zimmer rom-com scores.. so much delicate passion in it!

Really? I love, LOVE(!) AGAIG, and (as a great background listening experience) I'll Do Anything. I'm only lukewarm about Spanglish. It's very good in the movie however.

  3. Blake Neely is working on it, so there is at least SOME connection to it (Neely co-orchestrated all Kamen's final works)

Would have preferred someone like Edward Shearmur.
