I WANT INFORMATION ABOUT ZIMMER INCEPTION!

All the more so because it has gone from the Water Tower music website. Amazon still lists it as a Water Tower release but the cover picture has gone from there as well. confused

Not a bad transcription. Quite a bit better than the (rather lazy) one I did, in fact.
I should give this one a shot!

Me too! Memento is brilliant and also very emotional. And The Prestige is just completely my kind of movie. Awesomeness!

I am not too sure he should have tossed DAVID JULYAN completely though....what Zimmer did for him so far was great in its own terms indeed, but Julyan's output is also very unique and worthy, very interesting; it'd be so much better if we could still get Nolan outputs from both of those vastly different composers.

Here. Found the info i remember reading again before:

INCEPTION TRAILER MUSIC. (which is actually KICK.ASS btw)

The music in the Inception trailer is a custom score by Sencit Music (composed by a Mike Zarin).

    http://www.sencit.net/#/video/

Zack Hemsey did a custom track and it's called "Mind Heist". Boom.

    In fact:
It's BOTH Zarin AND Hemsey that we hear in the 3rd trailer.

Mind Heist by Zack Hemsey, for Pusher Music (a collective of musicians composing trailer music), incorporates Mike Zarin's (from Sencit Music as mentioned above) atmospheric track for the Inception teaser that uses the low horn-sounding bass note booms and a crescendo-ing whoosh w/ industrial stomp beat.

You can hear the original Zarin composition at http://www.sencit.net/#/video/

Hemsey added the strings, and the staccato melodies, complex layers, etc. for the 3rd trailer.

    Zack Hemsey is at http://www.youtube.com/user/ZackHemsey

Hope this clears it up even more!

Indeed, love that 1-note motif and the ostinato. Very prominent and epic, it reminded me of the opening of SHUTTER ISLAND, the piece by Penderecki.

Definitely one of my favourites, and my favourite Nolan film thus far.

Damn she is classy in there. Both the male leads are stunning too. And the hypnotic score. Yeah, you can say it's easily his best work to date; along with THE DARK KNIGHT (which is too serious and too non-crap for some).

I don't know... I'm ready to believe Julyan just isn't ready (yet) for the blockbusters Nolan is doing at the moment. Nolan helped Julyan out, gave him a career, even brought him back to create a fascinating score for The Prestige, a genre he can do very well while having Zimmer as producer and probably mentor, and now he's off sticking to thriller again.

He seems a bit limited to the ambient structures to me (though, who knows, it might have to do with the fact he hasn't composed outside the suspense genre that often). It's a chicken or egg thing, but I'm not feeling we're missing a lot here.

But, who knows? We might see him back as soon as Nolan is doing something small scale (relatively) again.

THE PRESTIGE didn't have limited music at all, especially in ambient structures since it was all......ambient! He just writes differently than Zimmer, that is. Maybe his darker movies could benefit a bit from some restrained musical approach like Julyan's. Nolan's bigger pictures aren't at all the typical hollywood blockbuster.
