Hans may have found fame and fortune since he wrote this but I don't think anyone could seriously claim he has ever made a greater contribution to the well-being of mankind than he did here.

I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!
  1. All Hans really had to say about this years later was that it paid his rent for a very *long* time biggrin

He, he...cool speech. Thanks for sharing.

That was an amazingly strong year in terms of score nominees. Any one of those would have been worthy winners, but Zimmer winning for LION KING was fine.

You haven't, by any chance, been in charge of the education system in Britain for the last couple of decades, have you?

Is the trend the same in Britain? In some Japanese elementary schools these days, I heard kids have to run together, not compete... rolleyes

I hated running competition, but I was proud of attracting attention for the finale! wink

Thanks for the heads up. The newer clips sounds good!!! A clear direct continuation from the previous scores, but with new thematic materials along with updated orchestrations and arrangements. However, it does sound a bit more synthetic than before...

Apparently, it's not available in my country, USA.... shocked

But if it's the theatrical preview that I think the link is pointing to, I did enjoy the new theme. I like how the simple construction of the cue really amplify the "epicness" of the movie.

I must say, if that's Zimmer's stuff I heard in that trailer, then I'm looking forward to that moment in the film

Yeap it's a complete piece from the score album. You can't view it in america? Lp, google "the tor project" or "tor browser" , download it (it's open-source, mozilla based) and go see it with good, loud speakers, now!
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
  4. Is it Gotham Reckoning on the soundtrack? How do you know?

    Initial Impression.

Gotham's Reckoning is excellent. It's basically an stylistic offshoot of "160BPM" from Angels and Demon, with a healthy dose of orchestral style from Peacemaker thrown in. I like the dissonant orchestral triplets as rhythmic ideas complimenting the percussions. As an action theme, it get a couple more reprisals in The Fire Rises and Fear Will Find You.

Mind if I Cut In is a good track, taking a page from Zimmer's thriller scores like The Ring. Sounds like something for Marion Cotillard's character?

On Thin Ice has a great take on the cello theme from The Fan. I love that theme.

Imagine The Fire is a grand statement of actiony purposes. Typical Zimmer and I LOVE IT.

The rest of the other tracks goes back and forth between the materials from BB and TDK but rearranged and reorchestrated. Given how TDKR will try to close the trilogy, it's appropriate.

Can't wait until the soundtrack is released!!!!
