I know how you feel. I was there as well in October, but left a week before the event. I didn't know about it, until I returned. I also didn't know Nolan would be filming The Dark Knight Rises there just weeks after I left. It's a 9 hour flight for me, so nope, didn't return either.

I did, but it's also a variation on 'just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water' from Jaws

I know, but it was the first thing tha came into my mind when thinking of a tagline, and considering we missed Williams for several years, I put it al together

I know it doesn't make much sense in general, but I just wanted to have a bit of fun

I am headed to Charlotte, NC tonight to see a concert of John Williams film music. I am very excited - not sure what the playlist is but I am hoping that, in addition to the staples of Star Wars and Indy, I get treats like Rosewood, Hook, and darker works from War of the Worlds mixed in too.

What better way to help celebrate his birthday this week!

Ha, ha.....you gotta love how the rest of the film music community is going apeshit over the new, expanded HOOK release from LaLaLand, while here at FSM there are only a few moderately interested replies in the 'Upcoming CD's' thread (except an ecstatic Thomas). That's why I love this place...it's different and more down-to-earth.

    Anyways, it's out now:

    http://www.facebook.com/lalalandrecords?ref=search

    Any reactions?

I love the score, but am pleased with the existing Epic release (which is actually a bit on the long side itself). But you knew that already.
    I am extremely serious.
  5. It's going to be nearly 120 minutes of Williams greatness. beer

And the bouncing dude is me, can't you see me going apeshit over this?

    bounce bounce bounce

Ever since the film was released, it's one of the best scores I've ever heard (much more in its complete form than on the existing album), needless to say I'm extremely happy the wait is almost over.

I'm really glad for you, Gilles. smile
I know it's your holiest of Grails.

I'm debating whether or not to get this.
I think it's got some of Williams' very best writing ever, but as Thor said: the original release already is pretty lengthy and I can't really remember any (worthwhile) music missing.

I'll have another look when there's a track listing up.
