Of course, they have to right to keep it all to themselves if they so wish.

They do - and we have no right to expect them to do anything else - but I share your frustration about Williams. The stories he could tell - but doesn't.

Yeah, Williams just doesn't have it when it comes to the fine art of utilizing electric guitars in appropriate historical settings...
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!
  4. The unused electric guitar solos of 'Chase through Coruscant' come to mind...

It doesn't get much more historical than that, after all.

    Indeed. "A long time ago..."
So if they had guitars all the way back when Coruscant was populated, they better have them in this new Lincoln score. I'll consider the whole project a failure otherwise.

  5. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra? Never heard a score from them...

They performed the music on the Fantasia 2000 recording. Williams has worked with them before and Spielberg wanted that Illinois connection (Lincoln's home state) with the music.

There are a few fun cues if you are in the mood for angry guitar playing mixed with Jackman's typically rousing action writing for strings. Also the main theme (the one with the wordless vocal in the first track) is really nice and would make the whole score worthwhile if it was used for more than 45 seconds of the total album time!
