    What was the rehab for?

In January the doctor prescribed a water pill to relieve the swelling in my leg which was caused from my blood pressure meds (amlodopine). The water pill worked very well causing me to lose all my potassium which made me very sick. I wa in the hospital long enough that I lost all use of my leg so I had to go through a round of physical therapy. It helped and has allowed me to get from the car to appointments and stores the wheelchair is still used a lot. I also got cellulitus and another small stroke. I'm a survivor smile

It would have been so easy to have gone to a nursing home. But I kept on trying and I see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Great to see that you're up and about, and not wholly dependent on the wheel chair!
    I am extremely serious.
  2. Good to see you around, Tom! Keep up that admirable attitude.

My pulse is quicker but my blood pressure is much higher leaving me with a pounding sensation in my head. I hope the cardiologist will figure this out on tuesday next week. The mediation is a catch 22. If I take the metropol which lowers the bp it also lowers the pulse. It got so low one morning I couldn't open my eyelids so we're not taking that drug anymore which of course raises the blood pressure. I think the answer will be a pacemaker to increase the bp and the pacemaker will keep the pulse up.

I am assuming that you have been through all the different options for blood pressure medication Tom? I know that my mum tried a whole number of different blood pressure tablets before finding the one that suited her best. Luckily, the first type of tablet I tried controls my blood pressure - although as the years go on I need to take a larger dose to get the desired effect.

Tom, is the pacemaker you are having fitted a Rheos system, a device that is stimulates the brain to control blood pressure?

The norvasc I'm taking is at the maximum dosage so increasing the amount to lower the bp is not an option. I believe the pacemaker has the Rheos system which will be of benefit to me. I'll know more Tuesday and will report to the group. The cardio specialist wants to make sure that surgery can be ruled out.

  12. I don't see the problem. She has a talent, what's wrong with showing off that talent and winning many hearts over in the process?

But then, I'm not a teacher and never come into contact with young impressionable kids.

  13. What, if anything goes wrong? A viral video might make he a national laughing stock. How is a girl that young supposed to handle such a situation? I see many dangers here, no least her being stalked by paedophiles.
