  1. smile Not sure about Zimmer's Lone Ranger but "High Noon" is also in my list. In fact, it includes four or five songs.
Bach's music is vibrant and inspired.
  2. If anyone wondered: The wonderful music that Erik used to underscore his introduction of Silverado by Bruce Broughton is the theme from O Pioneers! by the same composer. I love that! love

Thanks. BTW, every cue I used during my introductions was composed by the same composer as my selection.

    REMEMBERING JAMES HORNER

    http://www.cinematicsound.net/rememberi … 1953-2015/

It’s hard to believe that it has been three years since we lost two-time Academy Award-winning composer James Horner due to a tragic accident when his S-312 Tucano MK1 turboprop crashed 100 miles northwest of Los Angeles. He was 61 years old.

Over the course of the past few years, we here at CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO have produced a plethora of programming dedicated to Horner’s music. For this third anniversary of Horner’s passing, we thought it was best to share all of those programs here in one honourary post for you to rediscover again. And if you have never listened to ANY of these shows, then they are new to you.

Will there be any actual selections from Joachim Holbek's beautiful (but short) score to Lars von Trier's BREAKING THE WAVES on the podcast?

In all seriousness, that's a lot of great news for you. I continue to strive to reach your level with my own (I've "got" you in terms of celebrity composer guests, I guess, but I still have a long way to go to reach the fluid production values).
    I am extremely serious.

    UPDATE: October 23, 2018

    INTERVIEW WITH GHIYA RUSHIDAT

    http://www.cinematicsound.net/interview … -rushidat/

Today’s very special episode of CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO is a conversation with one of film music’s emerging talents.

Born in Saudi Arabia and raised in Jordan, Ghiya Rushidat is one amongst the few female composers of Arab heritage working in her field. Now based in Los Angeles, Rushidat has worked and performed throughout the Middle East and Europe, playing in excess of 150 concerts over the years.

After following a career as a concert pianist until 2008, Ghiya turned to composing and threw herself into the passion of composition.

In 2014, Rushidat moved to the United States. Upon arriving, her first task was to compose the music for the short film, Pen of Mirrors, starring Eric Roberts. Her melodic, dissonant, and layered score gained critical praise. She has been working steadily and tremendously ever since, always inflexible in her pursuit to please her clients and understand their vision.

Currently composing original soundtracks for a variety of plays, feature films, video games, short films, and TV spots, Ghiya Rushidat’s name is becoming a name to watch out for in the industry.

In 2017, Ghiya Rushidat was the Winner of BMI Pete Carpenter Fellowship, a competitive residency for aspiring film, television, and video game composers. Rushidat’s piece, “Fly and Flow”, was chosen as the winning score by a distinguished judging panel that included such talent as Christopher Lennertz, Timothy Wynn, Ben Decter, Casey Kolb, Ed Rodgers, and John Kaefer.

Ghiya is extremely proud of the fact that she has shattered stereotypes about women-both culturally and professionally. She will continue sharing her emotive and provocative scores with western and global audiences alike.

In August 2018, Jason Drury talked to Ghiya Rushidat on Skype from her home in Los Angeles for CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO, about her life, the events that have put her on the path to success, her career to date and her future ambitions.

During the show, you will also be hearing some of Ghiya’s wonderful music.

    Enjoy the show!
