    Just listened to the clips of the two Stargate movies on his site, and they sound wonderful -- a type of scoring we don't hear much anymore. Anyone heard either album and care to comment?

    Joel's a great guy and a wonderful composer , he knows I wish him well in all he does. More Joel Goldsmith is always good.

    This Joel Goldsmith talk made me visit his website again and listen to the clips. punk
    So far I only know Stargate Atlantis, but the rest sounds great as well.
    I think that video Beyond the Night is so cool, I don't think the music has been released? It's from Atlantis season 2 if I remember correctly.

    I feel sad too... does anyone have a news source of his passing? Can't find it anywhere.

    I see my post from a couple of years back is only a few posts up. I love the Stargate Atlantis score and the clips he posted on his website, like Beyond the Night, which was never released as far as I know.
  24. Oh my! I didn't know too much of the man's music, but the loss of a Goldsmith is always painful. sad

    May he re-unite with his dad way up there.

    I think that it may be too early for "official" reports of Joel's death.

    But I believe that Joel's agent/publicist first mentioned it on Facebook. But Neal Acree (for whom Joel was a mentor and good friend) has been very emotional about his passing on Facebook.

    I believe that he may have been suffering from cancer.
