I remember them ol' fangled LP's that didn't hold much music without having to have two of the bastards, and when we moved to CD, we had more. Even complete scores. But some of us didn't quite leave our old fashioned ways, right Thor?

Actually, I'm too young for the LP age. I think I have about 5 LP's stored away in my father's collection, and that's it. No film music. So my preference is definitely not tied to any old medium. smile
    I am extremely serious.
  2. Ah... fond memories...

Finally getting that Star Trek - The Motion Picture LP and finding that albumsized Enterprise poster as a free gift packaged with it... I miss those experiences.

Yeah I remember some albums containing posters cool

John Barry's The Deep and Howard The Duck and Game of Death, Williams Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom biggrin

Some albums even contained 45 rpm singles, only two as I remember, Horner's Star Trek III : The Search For Spock and Williams Close Encounters of The 3rd Kind had "popped up" versions of themes.

    @ I am Legend:
Obviously a very versatile score that seems to satisfy many different needs. I´m an addict for those quiet compositions he so fabulously manages to produce, so I guess this score will be mine very soon.

    @The Great Debaters:
Track 2 nearly made me quit the listening, but it got better after that... A rather quiet score. There was no theme I could have identified easily during this sound bit listening, but I´m sure there is.

I am Legend is easily the more interesting of the two, just because of its scope.

Please name your TOP THREE James Newton Howard scores - not five, not ten, no honorary followers, be brutal to yourself and stick to three.

    1st place: The Village
    2nd place: King Kong
    3rd place: Wyatt Earp

Being the JNH nut that I am, I find it incredibly difficult to name just three favourites, but if pressed I'd choose:

    1. Dinosaur
    2. Signs
    3. Wyatt Earp
  4. Thanks for voting! Here´s the updated list. It´s very brutal and hard fight there at the top, so any additional voters would be very welcome...

1st place: Snow Falling on Cedars / The Village 14 points
    2nd place: Signs 11 points
3rd place: King Kong 8 points

    Dinosaur / Unbreakable 6 points
Lady in the Water 5 points
    Devil´s Advocate 3 points
Waterworld / Wyatt Earp 2 points
    Blood Diamond 1 point
  5. 1. Signs
    2. Unbreakable
    3. The Village

Seems to be a circulation of JNH's top scores?

Lots of the same titles over and over?

I wonder where a John Williams top 3 would lead to??
