Nonsense. I have NEVER heard anyone describe Conan as overrated!

I've heard one person say that at the FSM board, just the one, I've never heard 'overrated' by anybody else on any film music board?......This 'one' person was obviously a cretin! moon

Who are these 'some people' though Jordi?

I doubt I'll get an answer rolleyes

Well, depends what you mean by "overrated". I frequently see it described as one of the all-time top five scores and I couldn't bring myself to agree with that, so in that sense I would say it's overrated, but I don't think that's what Nautilus meant. It's certainly very fine music.

Maybe James Horner will compose a new theme for this film! biggrin

The thing about Horner is that he's SO good at composing haunting, memorable melodies that it drives me crazy when he misses opportunities to do so by reusing previous material.
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!

Is there ANY composer who has a bottomless well of creativity to draw from?

    NOPE!

That's why Horner reuses his material.

Well, I don't quite understand why Horner always get's stones thrown at him? Can anyone name me one composer, ONE composer who HASN'T re-worked his own material.

Let's put a positive spin on it then.... Horner is far better at creating stunning original material than he is at re-using his material.

Yeh yeh, me too. If there's one thing that Horner has proved it's that, despite his tendencies to repeat himself, he is still capable of writing great, captivating music. I mean in recent years he has given us The Legend Of Zorro, All The King's Men and The Spiderwick Chronicles, all of which are really very good.

    Roll on April 15!

    cool
