    Corrected.

There's nothing horrid about the GNP crescendo release... shocked

I would like to extend an invitation to Thor to elaborate on why he will be happy with his GNP Crescendo release, when it is an incomplete version of the score that features cues out of film order?

The brass is very shrill and the overall quality of the GNP Crescendo is acceptable, but the remastered version sounds so much better and crisp (particularly "Kirk's Explosive Reply", "Enterprise Clears Moorings" and "Main Titles"). There's always some sort of problem with Dan Wallin's mixing on film scores.

He's gotten a bit better. Not by much, but a little. Giacchino's Star Trek score wasn't nearly as shrill or muddy than Wallin's shoddy job on Star Trek II.

I like 48 Hours but after Trek III I can't think of any 'MUST HAVE' Horner grails.

Really? I love them. Also, I'm told The Dresser (early score) is pretty special.
  6. There are plenty of Horner scores that have been out of print and hard to find for a while. Those of us that weren't collecting when they were available would like to have them on disc: Krull, Cocoon, Land Before Time, American Tail, Balto, maybe We're Back.

Don't worry, I do follow the new releases and still I missed Natty Gann, for financial reasons and for believing it would be available at least as long as the former two Intrada Horner-release... sad

Natty Gann was available with MovieMusic for quite some time after it sold out from Intrada/SAE. It's almost 2 weeks since you posted this comment so I'm not sure if you got the cd in the end.

Testament isn't so much of my interest, but In Country is an unknown and underrated gem, indeed. The "Listen, Sam" theme is just beautiful.

  9. Definitely In Country and Uncommon Valor need to be released at one point.

  10. Well, if we get Star Trek II expanded, we won't need Uncommon Valor, it's enough.

I wasn't talking about the 'similarity', I just remember it from the film, a workman like score IMO.
