Wow, that's an incredibly beautiful version....it even surpasses the original, IMO. Zoë's voice is warm and comfortable, unlike Dion's whiney, high-pitched melodrama. She's sexy too. But I must admit I'm surprised she would do it....I associate her with the Kate Bush/alternative pop-sound evident in "Into It" from her dad's STARSHIP TROOPERS:

Here's a nice interview with the 28-year-old Horner in 1983:

Yes, check it out -- I think there's two or three recording sessions interviews with him, too.

Its so interesting how Horner is still so young and could potentially have several decades of good output left in him, when he's already been scoring for 30 years. In terms of sheer amount of good, listenable released music, he could become the most prolific film composer in history. (if he isn't already lol)
Has anyone heard anything from him suggesting that he knows whether he would like to retire at some point, or simply keep composing until he dies?I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to! -

It's different, and quite a bit slower, but it's not bad.Kazoo -

Nah, the original for me is still the better one, but this here with Zoe beats the absolutely atrocious one I have on the Silva Screen compilation from a couple of months ago.
Listen to a snippet here (track 8) but beware, you may need a bucket soon. It's an excellent compilation, except for that one track."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

Here are quite some movie clips from "For Greater Glory". There is also score hearable almost throughout every clip.

I'm with you on "Brainstorm" completely. And I'm still a Horner enthusiast and looking forward to his most recent works. Bring on "Spider-Man" and "For Greater Glory" (hope it gets announced soon...)! -

Totally agree with your review.
I truly hope this gets a deluxe release as this CD is the only film score CD of mine that has deteriorated, there's holes in the disc I can see through, it still plays perfectly except for the last track.
It's also ( along with two others ) the very first CD I ever bought way back in 1988.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

There are holes on the disc? Seriously, that's disturbing. You must've spun it what, a million times???"considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

My bad. There are no holes in the disc ( I just checked it ), I was thinking about another early disc I bought. The last track problem is still there, no discernable marks at all and I've tried playing it on more than one media but to no avail so I still look forward to a deluxe release. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Here's a new featurette about "The Amazing Spider-Man":
http://www.oscorpindustries.com/mutagen/
Maybe I'm wrong, but quite some parts of the music sound like James Horner score to me. A bit of a suspens-"Beautiful Mind"-vibe... -
- CommentTimeMay 13th 2012
Considering the featurette starts with Zimmer's The Da Vinci Code, then goes into something that certainly isn't Horner until it gets towards the Horner-like music, I'm sure that also is temp music. -

These track titles seem strangely short and to the point, not the usual Horner extravagance...I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!
